DJ Yamato Akitake, who continually explores the art of sound through a Deep Listening approach, delves into the essence of “environmental music” rather than the genre of Ambient music itself.

In my previous work, “The Tuning of the World,” the concept centered on returning to the origins of soundscape theory, with a focus on the consciousness of “capturing the sounds that exist within the environment.“

This new work takes a step forward, conceptualizing various approaches and interpretations of environmental sound perspectives that have persisted since the 1970s, reinterpreted from a modern perspective. Constructed with recent releases in the field of environmental music, the title “Music for Ambience” shifts the focus from the Ambient music genre to the attitude toward sound as it relates to the environment.

This mix invites listeners to contrast and experience the “now” of environmental music and Ambient music in juxtaposition with my previous work.
