The ghost is somewhere

A DJ who rides a fast motorcycle while traveling through music from across eras and regions, Ritsuko Sakata crafts a bright and gentle, spirit-tinged mix centered on the mysterious mixteca traditions of Oaxaca, Mexico, guided by her gaze toward the many “festivals that commune with the dead” found around the world.

Around the world, there are countless festivals, like Japan’s Obon, Mexico’s Day of the Dead, and Halloween, where people seek to commune with spirits.

With the feeling that the spirits we usually cannot meet are always close by, I created this mix with a bright heart, centering it around mixteca, a musical tradition from the Oaxaca region of Mexico.
