sosei
Osaka-based electronic musician Chie Otomi crafts a seamless flow, centering on electronic music that values resonance, space, and the beauty of silence.
In this mix, I focused on electronic music that highlights the resonance of sound and embraces space and silence.
I’m drawn to tracks that are stripped of unnecessary elements, simple in structure, yet where the placement of each sound stands out and enhances the strength of the music itself. That’s also the kind of music I aspire to create.
I also included playful pieces that feature techniques unique to electronic music—like changing tape speed, collage-like effects, and sounds that balance between solid grooves and an almost drowsy, drifting atmosphere.
The title is “Sosei,” which means “composition” in Japanese.
I combined these pieces to create a new and continuous flow.
