Resonance of the Unseen

tomo takashima, who spent his childhood in Hong Kong and Shanghai and now operates from Tokyo with a DJ style that intersects multiple artistic disciplines, quietly layers selections from his treasured record collection to trace the moment when sounds from distant lands resonate together as a single unfolding current.

Welcome. I wove this mix from a shelf of treasured records and set it adrift like a bottle letter on the sea.

The warmth of a piano played by an Ethiopian nun, the heat of a Brazilian guitar, and the deep stillness of shakuhachi and Persian percussion.

As music from distant lands connects beneath the same sun, the journey reminds me of a beautiful fractal structure.

The veins of a leaf form a forest, the forest shapes the Earth, and the Earth becomes part of the cosmos.

From the room you are in now, all the way to the endless night sky, in one seamless line.

Take a warm drink in your hand and let yourself slowly drift into it.
