Reel of spiritual reverie

Following her previous work Life Sound Cycle, where she crafted a distinctive world that cycles between experimental sound, travel, and spirituality, IMUS now weaves the lingering afterimages of journeys, memories and emotions accumulated across travels in Japan and abroad, into a soundscape that embodies the very essence of “the afterglow of travel.”

Since releasing my previous mix, I’ve traveled through many more places, three cities in Georgia over the summer, and journeys through my home region of San’in and across the Chūgoku area being especially vivid.

I found myself witnessing contrasts between West and East, the living world and mythic realms, nature and industry.

Even now, flashes of strange, uneasy, and nostalgic emotions, along with scattered, ungraspable landscapes, continue to surface as I move along the borders of human life and cities.

This mix was created while holding onto those fragments of memory and image as they gently merge together, shaped as a quiet afterglow of travel.
