Living Kwaito Legacy

Having traveled to South Africa many times and absorbed the local sensibilities and evolving sounds firsthand, mitokon traces the living, evolving spirit of Kwaito by weaving together classics and tracks from a new generation, with Kwaito as the point of departure.

Many unique genres were born in South Africa, and at their root lies Kwaito.

Its influence remains unwavering, continuing to live and evolve as a culture today.

In this mix, I wove together Kwaito classics with tracks by a new generation of artists who carry its spirit forward.
