発酵(光)する響き

INA, who runs Ukikusa Saryo, a Japanese tea and environmental music cafe in Yuasa, Wakayama where traces of the mid Edo to Meiji eras still linger, gently gathers the fermenting flow of time in this soy sauce brewing town, along with the quiet atmosphere of year’s end.

I recorded this mix at Ukikusa Saryo, a Japanese tea and environmental music cafe in Yuasa, Wakayama, a soy sauce brewing town where traces of the mid Edo to Meiji eras still remain.

Inspired by “Hakkou Suru Hibiki,” an event, exhibition, and series of experiments by Aki from Pasar Mangetsu Beach in Shimane, held at the cafe, I carried over its concept of sounds slowly fermenting, growing, and coming into being, while also weaving in the imagery of fermentation rooted in Yuasa’s history.

This is a 60 minute set woven from the music I listened to while spending the end of 2025 in Yuasa.
