Fader metaphor II
Based in Omuta, the southernmost city of Fukuoka Prefecture, rapper NAKI continues a genre-crossing musical journey rooted in hip hop, capturing the excitement and unease that arise just before beginning something new, and translating those unknown yet warm emotions into sound.
Before I begin something I’ve been imagining, waves of excitement and hidden unease come and go in turns.
There are unfamiliar landscapes ahead and no way of knowing what will happen, yet the feeling is fresh, warm, and strangely comforting.
This one-hour set is my attempt to translate that whimsical and unknown state of mind into music. Feel free to let it loop and drift with it.
